I’m so late. I typed this up weeks ago, but am just now getting around to posting it. It’s like mid-October but here’s my September (errrrrr…… and October?) Favorites! Fall itself is my favorite season and I’m definitely looking forward to this one! I just know it’s going to be great! I recently found a few gems I’m loving that I’m so super excited to share with you.
- Flax Ezekiel Bread
Seriously! Have you tried it yet? Life Changer! It is so good. I like Ezekiel bread. It’s tasty, healthy, and a little pricey. But definitely good. Then, one day, when my brother and his fiancee were staying here, they went grocery shopping and came back with a couple types of Ezekiel bread. The flax one went into the freezer. When it finally came out, I was blown away. It is so so good. I could eat it all. day. long.
- Chia Bars
Another food item, I know. But these chia bars are too good not to mention. My kids have always hated granola bars. But one day we were walking through the grocery store and there was a sample of Chia Bars. Ever entranced by what I call the “sample factor,” my son begged to try them and has been hooked ever since. They are a great little snack for on the go. He loves the chocolate peanut butter flavor, but for school we do apple cinnamon because that is delicious too. The guy at the sample table told me that coconut is the best seller. And I’ve been dying to try the coffee flavor.
- Original Sprout Hair Care
My mother actually found this product line some while back, but for some reason it took me a while to catch on. I think we had a Brobdingnagian-sized bottle of shampoo and conditioner we were using up first. When we finally ran out of conditioner, I pulled out the Original Sprout bottle my mom had purchased for my daughter a while ago. She was determined to help her find a way to make combing her hair less torturous for all involved.
Looking at the bottle I was impressed: “Vegan Hair and Skin Products” and everything”-free.” My mom may have had me in mind when she agreed to buy it. I looked at their website and was impressed at the amount of research put into making the products and picking the ingredients. Most of all – it works! When she uses the conditioner, it is so much easier to get the comb through her hair. The same goes for my son. When his hair gets longer it can get knots too, but the conditioner works wonders.

I know self-help isn’t for everyone, but I find that starting the day with something uplifting just gets me started on the right foot.
I actually bought this as an audiobook on Audible. It was really great to listen to on the way home from dropping the kids off at school. Even if it was just for 5-10 minutes in the morning before having to deal with everything else, it was an uplifting 5-10 minutes.
I could really feel a difference in my mood as I was listening to it. I began listening at an apt time and many of the principles were translating into my everyday life. So all of the lessons felt extremely relevant and served as a beautiful reminder. I definitely recommend it.
- Yoga Squishes I love doing yoga “squishes” with the kids. So so relaxing and feels so good.Begin by teaching your child Child’s Pose. Kneel on the floor, sitting on your heels. Keeping your big toes together and allowing your knees to spread apart, lean forward and rest your forehead on the mat. Stretch your arms out in front of you with your palms on the ground.Once your child is in child’s pose, use both hands to push gently on their back going up and down, you can even press on their feet. It feels so good. If you are skeptical, have them do it to you after. It’s like a massage – so relaxing!
